  • Drunken-like Behavior with no Smell of Alcohol
  • Clumsiness
  • Drowsiness
  • Droopy Eyes
  • Dilated Pupils

Effects of Use

  • Sedation
  • Reduced Anxiety
  • Lowered Blood Pressure
  • Slowed Pulse

Duration of Effects

  • Barbiturates: 4 – 16 hours
  • Tranquilizers: 4 – 12 hours
  • Methaqualone: 4 – 8 hours
  • Flunitrazepam: 4 – 8 hours
  • Gamma Hydroxybutyrate: 3 – 6 hours

Signs of Overdose

  • Shallow, Slow Breathing
  • Cold, Clammy Skin
  • Fast, Weak Pulse
  • Coma
  • Seizure-like Actions (for GHB, GBL)

Fatal Overdose Possible

  • Yes, from respiratory arrest and especially when used in combination with other depressant drugs, including alcohol

IMPORTANT:  If you suspect a person may have overdosed on sedatives/hypnotics , your best course is to call 911 and seek emergency medical treatment immediately.
